Special Issuances
FAA lists some medical conditions that are outright disqualifying for certain Class medical certificates.
For these conditions, the FAA must make determination and the framework into which your Certificate will be issued.
The Federal Air Surgeon may grant an Authorization for Special Issuance of a Medical Certificate (Authorization), with a specified validity period, to an applicant who does not meet the established medical standards.
Conditions
- Arthritis / Psoriasis
- Asthma
- Atrial Fibrillation
- Bladder Cancer
- Breast Cancer
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Colitis (Ulcerative/Crohn’s Disease) or Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Colon Cancer
- Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT), Pulmonary Embolism (PE), Hypercoagulopathies
- Diabetes Mellitus – Type II Med Controlled (Not Insulin)
